Goolge+ submits iphone App for approval
Google’s latest offering, its social networking proposition, Google+ has submitted its iOS app for approval to Apple. I must confess that I am very impressed by the simplicity of Google+ and really excited about the prospects of having the app on my iphone.
China State owned fund wants to own Facebook
China Investment Corp- A state-owned fund in China is keen to buy a significant stake in Facebook. This news comes in after a series of events where Facebook’s CEO has reportedly expressed desire to enter into the Chinese market. A private equity deal with the State Backed Fund might open up an automatic entry route for the Social Networking giant.
Blackberry’s Black Hour
The once iconic smartphone is facing tough times as its financial performance and growth continued to get worse. The users of iPhone and the premium Android phones would agree to the following critic’s appraisal of Blackberry. “Canadian tech company’s (RIM) path-breaking innovation might have turned ‘technically obsolete’ in the age of iPhone and other glitzy touchscreen devices.” Its tablet offering has been a disappointment and so have been the other latest offerings in the smartphone category.
India eases norms for remote sensing data sector
The Indian government, revising its Remote Sensing Data Policy, removed restrictions pertaining with providing consumers access to high resolution data for developmental activities. The earlier policy provided for imaging with resolutions up to 5.8 metres to be distributed on non-discriminatory and ‘as requested’ basis by ISRO has been brought down to up to one metre.
